Adani Defence and Aerospace has delivered its second Drishti-10 Starliner surveillance drone to the Indian Navy, significantly enhancing India’s maritime surveillance capabilities. This delivery took place at Porbandar in Gujarat, following the first drone’s handover earlier this year in January.

The Drishti-10 drone is an advanced Medium Altitude Long Endurance (MALE) Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) manufactured by Adani Defence and Aerospace in collaboration with Elbit Systems, an Israeli company.

    Key Specifications of Drishti-10 Drone

    • The Drishti-10 is primarily used for intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance (ISR) missions.
    • It is a variant of Israel’s Hermes-900 medium-altitude long-endurance UAV.
    • The drone has an endurance of 36 hours and can carry a payload of 450 kg, which includes various sensors and equipment for its ISR role.
    • It is equipped with features like multiple hard points for payloads, a large internal bay for special missions and is designed to operate autonomously with high efficiency.
    • The UAV holds NATO’s STANAG 4671 certification, making it the only all-weather military platform with this certification for UAV airworthiness. This allows it to operate in both segregated and unsegregated airspace.

The introduction of the Drishti-10 into the Indian armed forces is seen as a boost to India’s defense capabilities, contributing to national security by providing enhanced surveillance over maritime and land borders.
